Tim J.Friesen

Tim joined the firm in 2005 and became a partner in 2007. He provides financial reporting, succession and estate planning services to clients working in a wide range of industries. Tim especially enjoys helping people save money on taxes. Tim can be found exploring remote areas of the country and looks for opportunities to practice his Spanish when not at work. Buenos Dias

Tina J. Viney

Partner CPA, CA

Tina has been with the firm since 2005 and joined as a partner in 2008. She is readily available to assist clients with all their accounting and taxation needs including corporate, personal, and estate tax preparation and planning, business sale and succession. Tina also works with for-profit, not-for-profit and charitable clients who require a review or audit of their financial statements. Born and raised in the Westlock area, Tina and her husband are thankful that they are able to raise their children here as well, on a small farm near Nestow.

Kendra R. Stasiuk

Partner CPA, CA

Kendra is the newest partner to the firm but no stranger to the business or community. Having worked for 17 years with the firm she provides a very strong, well rounded bank of knowledge to her clients. Her professional interests include Corporate year ends, Personal and Corporate tax, Assurance, and AgriStability. She grew up in the area and now lives on a farm with her husband and children where they operate an apiary.

David Brand

Manager, ACIA

After more than 30 years with the firm, Dave is certainly well known by our client community. His accounting career started 9 years earlier before he found his home with Friesen Viney Stasiuk. He provides concrete Accounting and Tax planning services to his clientele. His out of office title of Grandpa and the activities that go with it keep him very busy. He and his wife, Nellie, also enjoy travelling to destinations near and far.

Margaret Ruhl

Senior Staff Accountant

Margaret has been working in the accounting field for many years. Corporate financial statements and tax, personal tax preparation and Government farm support programs such as AgriInvest and AgriStability are her main focus. Trips in and outside of Canada are always at the top of her list. When not heading off on another adventure she enjoys her yard and spending time with friends and family especially her grandchildren.

Debbie Nadeau

Senior Staff Accountant

A long standing member of the staff, Debbie has a wealth of knowledge that she applies to all her tasks. Along with corporate and personal tax preparation, she is also the technical support person within the office, troubleshooting accounting software applications including, Sage and QuickBooks (desktop and online). Debbie is a very creative individual and exercises this talent in many ways including, painting, jewelry making, crafts and woodworking. She enjoys family time, swimming, and travel.

Starting with the firm in 2015, shortly after University completion, Melissa continued her education and has completed her CPA designation. Her professional interests focus on assurance and personal tax. The Mercier family enjoys spending time outdoors.

John Gardon

Staff Accountant

John has been in the accounting industry for 17 years , finding his way to our firm in 2018. He brings a wealth of knowledge in many accounting areas and has become our GST resource person, addressing the majority of GST questions that come our way. His second job is farming which he schedules into his work calendar as required. His perfect evening would be gathering with family and friends around a campfire sipping a glass of red wine.

Richard Payne

With more than a decade of experience , Richard brings a solid accounting background to the table. His main area of interest is corporate tax. Outside the office, Richard’s young family fills most of his free time.

Lilly Artemenko

Staff Accountant, BComm

Graduating from University in 2021, Lilly joined the firm directly. Her primary focus is corporate tax and bookkeeping. Just mention horses and Lilly has many stories to share. All her spare moments are spent raising, training, barrel racing, breakaway roping and team roping using some of the many members of her horse family. Her trusty pup Gem is never far away.

Robert McLevin

Staff Accountant

New to our team in 2021, Robert is keen on number crunching and enjoys the continuous learning environment that accounting and taxation offers. He enjoys his family time with activities that have them indoors with cooking and games or outdoor enjoying nature.

Nick McCann

Staff Accountant

Nick joined the team in 2023, eager to learn and excited for the challenges that a career change would bring. He was born and raised on a farm in Fawcett, currently residing there with his wife Melissa and their two dogs, Ruby and JoJo. When not hard at work at the office, you’ll find Nick helping on the farm, volunteering as President of the Fawcett Ag Society, helping with other community events, or pursuing his lifelong musical interests.

Sara Belanger

Payroll, Bookkeeper

Joining the firm in 2016, Sara holds a wealth of experience in the areas of bookkeeping and payroll. Her children and her dance classes occupy much of her free time. Hiking and bike riding are her way to enjoy the great outdoors.

Bookkeeping has been Kathy’s main focus since she joined the firm in 2019. She enjoys working with clients to ensure their business operations are accurately reflected in their books. Her family and 2 cats keep her busy outside of work but she always makes time for fun which include friends, cooking and baking.

Lisa performs administrative duties. She is one of the friendly faces that may greet you at the door. She enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and kayaking. Her creativity is applied to handwork and painting projects. Spending time with family is also a priority.

Karen has been with the firm since 1993, her knowledge of the many areas of taxation and government processes proves it. She believes in follow up and follow thru, two keys to providing excellent customer service. Outside of work, Karen enjoys spending time in her yard and garden. When the work is done, a cold beer on the deck while admiring the fruits of her labor is the perfect reward.

As an Administrative Assistant, Sandy keeps many of the back office task under control. The sunshine calls her outside to tend the flowers or simply to soak it in. And when possible she and her husband like to chase the sunshine to warmer climates as well.

If you call our office you have a good chance of speaking with Anita. In her administrative roll, assisting clients and staff is her main objective. She delivers friendly, helpful and reliable service. Anita’s interests have her spending time both indoors and out. Gardening, golfing, games and grandkids provide her hours of after hour entertainment.

She moved to Barrhead County in 2021 from Edmonton to live at her acreage. She enjoys the country life and outdoor activities like hiking, canoeing, swimming, running, gardening and animals. She shares her life with her husband and 4 wonderful children.
